Potomac Chapter ISPI Message from the President for January 2010
We Got The Miracle! Happy New Year!
After I sent last month’s President’s Message, I received speedy responses from four folks volunteering to lead us into the new decade. Three of the respondents have not been involved with service to the chapter: Catharine Zaranis, Doug Reed, and Seema Takiya. The fourth volunteer, Kathleen Weiss, has served on various committees in the past so we are very lucky to have her perspective and experience.
I was just knocked out by this expression of volunteerism, and my faith in the members of our profession has been renewed. You’ll see the names of the volunteers new to our chapter on the slate of officers during our election process this spring. Kathleen already has taken on the task of creating a relationship between our chapter and President Obama’s chief performance officer, Jeffrey Zients.
What a great way for this year to start!
Urgent Need for a Chapter Videographer
I don’t mean to seem greedy … since I just requested and received volunteers to lead our chapter for the next few years, but we need help. Mark Boccia has been faithfully videotaping our sessions and posting them on our web site. His schedule has gotten really crazy and he cannot attend all of our meetings as he had planned. It would be great if someone would volunteer to pick up the video equipment from Mark, tape the session next week, and post it on our web site. These kind of skills look great on your resume, too. My contact information is provided below.
