Potomac Chapter ISPI Message from the President for February 2010
More Wonderful Folks Volunteered to Help the Chapter Thrive!
Through another of my email accounts, I received more responses from folks volunteering to keep our chapter flourishing. These fabulous folks are: Anita Jones-Quinones, CDR, USN-Ret., Virginia Beach, VA; Elaine Rand, Consultant, Washington, DC; Peter Gaumond, Senior Associate, Altarum Institute, Washington, DC; and Vilma Perez-Atwood, Curriculum Development Coordinator, Haz/Mat Training Department, International Association of Fire Fighters, Washington, DC.; and Dr. Susan Krup Grunin, Consultant, Washington, DC.
You all have uplifted me! I extend my warmest thanks.
100 Members in 100 Days
I want to implement the vision of Sarah Ward, current Past-President, and Catherine Zaranis, President-Elect. Independently, these leaders developed the dream of our chapter’s attaining 100 members. As of Tuesday, February 23, 2010, we have 78 active members, so we only need 22 more by June 3rd. If you become a member by June 3rd, we’ll gift you the next year’s membership—that’s 16 months of Potomac Chapter member for the price of 12!!!
Now that we’ve voiced our intention, let’s work together to meet this goal. Let your friends, colleagues, and classmates know about this reasonably-price resource. I’ll keep you posted in the following months’ President’s Messages about our progress.
Member Benefits
Job Listings
Every week, we receive new notices of open positions. These are made available only to active members. If you are looking for a new job, you will want to join our chapter to have access to these job openings.
Program Videos
We videotape most monthly presentations and post these programs along with the presenters’ slides or other handouts. This service is available only to active members. If you would like to have access to information presented by thought leaders of our profession such as Rick Rummler, Karen Medsker, and Dale Brethower, you will want to join our chapter.
